ARE YOU KNOWN BY THE KING?

ARE YOU KNOWN BY THE KING?

Exodus 1:8
Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. KJV.

NIV:Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt.

The NIV translation of this verse pretty much explains the entire chapter in clear terms. Prior to our text of study, the Israelites thrived in Egypt, the king honoured them so to say because Joseph meant something to him, Joseph was valued hence his people were also valued. Joseph had proven to the king that he was worth a ton of gold, he had built intimacy, trust with the king.

However, the king passed and new king to whom Joseph meant nothing and wasn't known by came into power and what followed was a plan to destroy the Isrealites. It became a new phase in their lives, for this new king didn't feel obligated to Joseph and his people, Joseph had done nothing to warrant favour from this king, he was like every other individual in Egypt and meant nothing to this king, and the king wasn't moved to do right by them.

This is typically the same with our God and king, except you're known by Him, the privileges, favour, and obligation you seek cannot be yours. Joseph had sown into his relationship with the former king and secured his place,he was known and valued, the king couldn't deny him or seek his hurt. Have you sown into your relationship with God, what exactly is your value? Is there something you've done that automatically makes you valuable to God? Have you built intimacy from fellowship? On what grounds do you seek His obligation? Becoming valuable to God could range from expressing a profound faith in Him to carrying out certain instructions and allowing Him see that he's your master.

Are you going through any challenge or is there a request you've been waiting to manifest or expect certain privileges from God? Answer the question of, does God know you? What's your value to him? Have I proven myself worthy of his obligation? You may have been known before but have broken covenant which removed you from the access to God's privileges, or you've never enacted the covenant with Christ, whichever one it is, decide which category you fall endeavour to do what's required to become a bonefide partaker of His privileges.

How can you become known and valued by God?
• Build intimacy and fellowship.
• Build faith and trust.
• Carry out His instructions to the latter.

Finally, verse 20 of Exodus chapter 1 shows us a clear example of what a king does for the one's he knows and vaues.
KJV:Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

The two women had done something to warrant God's obligation towards them and he didn't disappoint!
Be of good cheer, the Lord does fulfil his obligations to those He knows and he does so rightly.

Peradventure you haven't enacted a covenant with Christ, join me as we say the sinners prayer.

Prayer Point
"Dear Jesus, I come humbly before you today, renouncing every works of the devil, and embracing your glorious light, come into my life and make me new, I enact a covenant of life with you today that I may became eligible and known by you in order to partake of the privileges in the Kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen".
